Sam Allen Meade Obituary (1942 - 2019)

The Lord Our God called Sam Allen Meade to Heaven on August 9, 2019 bringing with him the family pet and companion Tiger. Sam was born October 26th, 1942 in Clinton, IL to Claude and Jessie (Huffaker) Meade of Clinton, Illinois who both preceded him in death. Sam was a Military Veteran serving in the Army Infantry starting in 1959. He returned to Clinton after his service and wed Randie L. Meade {Garfoot}. He leaves behind his ex-wife Randie and his three children, Sandy L Meade {San Diego}, Steve R. Meade {Clinton} and Sharon L. Ceniceros-Meade {Clinton}. He had one grandson Damian A. Ceniceros Meade {San Diego}. He is also survived by his sister Yvette D. Meade {Harold} of Plant City, Florida and one brother William Hutchcraft. He was preceded in death by many beloved family members and friends, including his closest friends; his brother and sister-n law Robert D. Meade and Ruth A. Meade {Ballenger}, his lifelong friends Peyton Van Ness and Carol J. Armstrong as well as many others. Sam was a simple man who found happiness and peace living in Clinton, Illinois. He was the first to help others and worked hard his entire life to provide for his family. He enjoyed coaching Khourey League softball and in his more recent years enjoyed just relaxing with Tiger by his side watching Westerns or spending time with his children and grandson. Words from His Children and Grandson, "This world was a better place just from having our Father/Grandfather in it. His sarcastic humor, his gentle teasing, his strength and support, and his unconditional love made us who we are. Our hearts are broken today but he will be remembered always, thought of constantly, and forever loved." As per his wishes, we will not be having a service but will schedule a Celebration of Life in September for friends and family. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites. Memorials may be directed to the Clinton V.F.W. or the Clinton American Legion
