Sarah Jane Newhalfen Obituary (1980 - 2020)

PUTNAM- Sarah Jane Newhalfen, 40, of Putnam, passed away peacefully at 2:05 PM on Saturday October 17, 2020 at her home.. Sarah was born on June 5, 1980. Surviving are her parents; Tom and Diane Newhalfen, her sister; Betsy ( Tom) Krafft;, and her brother , Ross (Amy) Newhalfen. She had two nephews, Parker and Liam. Sarah was always a second mom to the boys; helping to care for and raise them since they were born. She also had three nieces who she loved dearly. Jade, Isabelle, and Ellie. Sarah was always buying gifts for the kids no matter how many times we said, "no more toys". She loved her family more than anything and we were all incredibly lucky to have Aunt Sarah. Sarah had most recently been employed by Hearthside Foods in Wenona. She was a machine operator there for 12 years. She also cleaned houses for various families in the area. When not working, she loved to garden and loved making crafts. She was so talented, taking after both of her grandmas in that area. Although her time here was cut short, the bonds she created with each of her loved ones will last forever. Sarah will always be remembered for her big heart and warm smile. Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM, on Tuesday October 20, 2020 at Calvert-Johnson Memorial Home in Henry. Cancer is awful, scary, and completely unfair. If you have a sister, daughter, mother, any female in your life; ask them to get their check-ups. A not so pleasant office visit is better than the consequences of not going at all.
