Timothy "Tim" J. Janes Obituary (1963 - 2021)

Timothy "Tim" J. Janes, 57, of Pontiac, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 12:20 p.m. at OSF St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac. Cremation rites will be accorded Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Tim was born November 30, 1963, in Fairbury, IL to Bruce and Sara (VanEtta) Janes. Sara survives in Pontiac. Also surviving are his sister, Candy L. Janes of Pontiac, IL and his nephew, Brandon Janes and his husband, Reid Sewell, of New York, NY. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce. Tim was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School, Class of 1981. Before returning to Pontiac, he spent several years as a server in various fine-dining restaurants in several major American cities. A jack of all trades, he also worked as a freelance design consultant and painter. Tim was an avid maker and artist who devoted much of his spare time to making and selling art and home decor items throughout the area.
