Walter "Pat" O. Richmond Jr. Obituary (1929 - 2018)

Walter O. "Pat" Richmond Jr. passed away at 11:52 A.M. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Heritage Health, El Paso. Cremation Rites were accorded and memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Flanagan Christian Church 109 N. Main St. Flanagan with Rev. Dana L. Jumper officiating. Military rites will follow at the church by the Flanagan American Legion Post 456. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be made to the church. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan is assisting the family with arrangements. Pat was born December 29, 1929 in Muncie, IN the son of Walter O. and Viola May Reeser Richmond Sr. He married Arbuta D. Augburn on February 25, 1954 in Muncie, IN. She survives along with three children Nila (Roger) Davis of Flanagan, Joyce (Jeff) Oravec of Berwyn, and Michael (Betty) Richmond of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren Johnnie Ruffner, Samantha (Andy) Grayson, Alish Davis, David (Lacy) Davis, and Stephen Richmond; fifteen great grandchildren; and one niece Barbara Dillon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters Margaret Angeline, Daisy May, and Opalmae. He was a member of the Flanagan Christian Church and was a devout Christian. He was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of the VFW post 3073 in Dothan, AL; He worked as an electrician for R.R. Donnelly & sons in Crawfordsville, IN and then retired from Johnson & Johnson Company in Wilmington, IL; Pat was an avid artist and enjoyed painting, inventing things, and wood working. He loved fishing, golfing, and refinishing antiques.
