Denny R. Nelson Obituary (1958 - 2023)

Denny R. Nelson, 65 of Toluca, formerly of Bloomington/Normal passed away at 11:49 PM Wednesday August 16, 2023, at Aperion Care of Toluca. There will be a visitation for Denny on Monday August 21, 2023, from 5-6 PM at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. The family will have a brief time of prayer at 6 PM. Denny was born in Normal on August 6, 1958, to Calvin Riley and Mary Nelson. They preceded him in death as well as one brother Calvin. He is survived by his sister Ernestine Jackson of Normal, nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as friends of Futures Unlimited in Pontiac and his favorite nurse at Toluca, "Maggie" who went the extra mile as a friend and nurse. Denny was an avid basketball fan and especially loved Michael Jordan and watching the Chicago Bulls. He played basketball in the Special Olympics when he was young. He enjoyed pizza and always had an eye for a new watch. Memorial contributions may be made to Futures Unlimited.
