Dixie L. Riblet Obituary (1932 - 2023)

Dixie L. Riblet, 91, of Saybrook, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Wesbein United Methodist Church in Saybrook, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, IL. Dixie was born February 13, 1932, in Saybrook, IL, a daughter of Earl and Maude (Hyre) Crotinger. She married Timothy Messick in 1950. He passed away in 1980. She later married Marland Riblet in 1990. He passed away in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Coile of Saybrook, IL; grandchildren, Brandie Burleson, Brady Coile, Josh Messick, Nichole McKnight, Charles Taylor, Kevin Heideman, and Kyle Heideman; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by two children, Chris Messick and Robin Heideman; and two brothers, Ralph and Bill Crotinger. Dixie was a member of the Wesbein United Methodist Church. She worked as a cook at the Saybrook/Arrowsmith School for many years. She enjoyed having her morning coffee with her friends and listening to the Statler Brothers. Most of all she loved cooking family meals. Dixie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; great-great-grandmother; and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
