Donald R. Thompson Obituary (1948

Donald R. Thompson, 67, of Bloomington, died at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. He was born November 2, 1948 in Centralia, a son of Clifford and Dorothy Puffer Thompson. He married Nora J. Holmes on February 2, 1975. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2016. Surviving are his children, Judy (Brian) Raithel of Lexington and David Thompson of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Brenda Aldridge, Nicole Allin and Rae-Ann Aldridge; a great-granddaughter, Adelynn Rexroat; and his siblings, Brenda Berning of Centralia, Tommy Thompson of Ft. Myers, FL, Irma Puffer of Georgia, Sarah Sharp of Centralia and William Cruthis of Greenville. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Don served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and retired from McLean County Service Company. He enjoyed fishing and loved to spend time with his family.
