Dorothea M. Lawson 93 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 10:46 PM June 14, 2018 at Heritage Health, Normal, Illinois. Graveside services will be 1 PM Monday, June 18, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, Il. with Pastor John Roberson officiating. There will be no visitation. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Illinois with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Children's Church at the First Baptist Church, Clinton, Il. Dorothea was born April 29, 1925 in Clinton, Illinois, the daughter of Oliver Warren and Bessie Mae (Ellington) Weaver. She married Harold E. "Gene" Lawson July 17, 1948 in Bloomington, Il. He passed away July 25, 2002. Survivors include her brother, Sherrill (Marge) Weaver, Sun City Center, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 sisters, and 2 brothers. Dorothea was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton, Il. She had retired from the Duvall County School Board, Jacksonville, Florida and State Farm Insurance. Dorothea enjoyed woodworking and making Christmas ornaments.
