Douglas "Doug" E. Brantley Obituary (1929 - 2023)

Douglas "Doug" E. Brantley, age 94, of Kempton, IL, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, IL. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Calvert and Martin Funeral Home in Cullom, IL. Cremation rites will follow and a graveside will be held at a later date. Memorials in Doug's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Shriner's. Calvert and Martin Funeral Home, Cullom, is in charge of the arrangements. Doug was born on July 15, 1929, in Cullom, IL, to Oliver A. and Margaret "Maggie" (McNeeley) Brantley. He married DeNeyce Wright on December 12, 1954. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years: DeNeyce Brantley of Kempton, IL; one son: Brian (Lois) Brantley of Kempton, IL; grandchildren: Donnie (Shawnna) Brantley, Suzanne (Tommy) Dohe, Ariel (Heidi) Brantley, Joshua (Jeanie) Brantley, and Brittany (Jeff) Franklin. He is also survived by one sister: Bonnie Newton, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son: Darin Brantley, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
