James (Jim) Lewis Clark Obituary (1940

James (Jim) Lewis Clark, 83, of Normal, IL, went to be with his Lord on Monday, February 27, 2023. Jim was born on February 13th, 1940, in Bloomington to Lewis David and Esther Mae (Williams) Clark. He was a loving husband to Mildred for over 60 years, a devoted father, and beloved grandpa. Jim was a loyal follower of Jesus and a faithful member of College Avenue Baptist Church. He also served our nation in the National Guard. He worked for GTE for 32 years before retiring, then went to work for State Farm for seven years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, woodworking, and helping out his friends, family, and church in any way he could. Those who knew Jim knew him as a great man. He gave of himself for others and lived his life in a way that helped others to know they were loved. Jim is survived by his wife, Mildred; children Keith (Ashyia) Clark of Addison, IL; Amy (Robert) Gallion of Petersburg, IL; and Christopher (Cynthia) Clark of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren Olivia Diaz, Serena Diaz, James Clark, Tyler Gallion, Joseph Clark, Jonathan Clark, Amanda Clark, Toby Gallion, Anastasia Clark; siblings David (Judy) Clark, Ronald (Carolyn) Clark, and Virginia (Curtis) Snow. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Services will be on Saturday, March 4th, 2023, with Visitation at 12:30pm, Military Honors at 1:15pm, Funeral service at 1:30pm at Journey Church, 1320 E. College Ave., Normal, and Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
