Janice M. "Jan" Gray age 76 of Bloomington, IL passed away at 1:16 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. Her funeral mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 13, 2023, at Epiphany Catholic Church 1000 E. College Ave, Normal IL. Monsignor Eric Powell will be officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Friday January 13, 2023, at the church. The family suggests memorials be made to Home Sweet Home Mission or Epiphany Catholich Church, Normal, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Jan was born January 21, 1946 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Theodore and Beulah Arensdorf Haupert. She married Wayne C. Gray on September 14, 1968, in Itasca, IL. He survives. Also surviving, is her daughter, Karen (Mark) DeKeersgieter, Normal IL, granddaughter, Katelyn DeKeersgieter, Normal, IL,1 brother, Ted (Debbie) Haupert, Gold River, CA, niece, Judy (Ed) Johnson, Gurnee, IL, nephews, Bill Schultz, Gurnee, IL, Robert (Robert Jarzombek) Haupert, Sacramento, CA. Jan is preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, Eleanor Reed, Catherine Broda, Mildred Schultz, and Marcella Mueller. Jan worked at the Milwaukee Railroad and later was an elementary school secretary in the northwest suburbs, Streamwood, Bartlett, and Hanover Park. Jan was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, and she had volunteered at the church and St Mary's Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen. She loved sewing, baking, and spending time with her pride and joy, her granddaughter Katie.
