Sharon K. Garee Obituary (1940 - 2023)

Sharon K. Garee, 83, of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away at 12:50 P.M. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Illinois. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Le Roy, Illinois, with Mike Lyvers officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home of Le Roy, Illinois, is assisting the family with arrangements. Sharon was born on April 10, 1940, in Bloomington, Illinois, a daughter of Cecil D. and Lena Craig Williams. She married Elmer A. Garee on August 15, 1964, in Le Roy, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Elmer A. Garee of Le Roy, Illinois; two sons, Ronald (Stacy) Garee of Columbus, Georgia, and John (Denise) Garee of Le Roy, Illinois; four grandchildren, Matt, Katie, Daniel, and Robert Garee; sister, Shirley Burnette of Lafayette, Indiana; and brother, Lee (Leslie) Williams of Crete, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Sharon retired from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. She was a member of the Le Roy Christian Church and May Queen Rebekah Lodge 210, Le Roy, Illinois.
