Shirley "Short" Clifton 89 of Weldon, Illinois passed away 2:35 A.M. June 2, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Il. Services will be 1:00 P.M., Friday June 8, 2018 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Nixon Township Cemetery, Weldon, Il. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Friends In Action or Weldon Rescue Squad. Shirley was born in1929 in Rutledge Township, DeWitt County, Il. the daughter of Ora and Gertrude (Matlock) Milton. She married Earl "Jim" Clifton November 20, 1947 in Clinton, Il. He passed away November 27, 1998. Survivors include her children, Penny (Steve) Schimpler, Pasadena, Maryland; Jim (Marty) Clifton, Lehigh Acres, Florida; 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, Brothers, Bob Milton, Clinton, Il. and Bill Milton, Edmonds, Washington. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 1 Brother and 1 Sister. Shirley was a cook for the DeLand - Weldon School District for over 30 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 131 Myrtle Chapter, Clinton, IL. Shirley enjoyed movies and listening to books on tape.
